Context: AICTE has came up with a MHRD AICTE COVID-19 Student Helpline Portal to help college students those who are stuck in hostels and address their issues.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MHRD AICTE COVID-19 Student Helpline Portal?
The Portal has been developed by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to provide help and support to students who have been facing difficulties due to closure of colleges and hostels.
This portal is essentially to connect those who are willing to provide help with those who need help. The nature of support includes Accommodation, Food, on line Classes, Attendance, Examinations, Scholarships, Health, Transport, Harassment etc.
This portal has been developed in a record time of one day by student interns Shivanshu and Akash of Graphic Era University.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the statutory body and a national-level council for technical education. It works under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
It was established in November 1945 initially as an advisory body and later on in 1987 given statutory status by an Act of Parliament.
AICTE is responsible for proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education and management education system in India.

Headquarters: The AICTE has its new headquarters building in Delhi on the Nelson Mandela Road, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. It has regional offices at Kanpur, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bhopal, Vadodara, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.
AICTE is assisted by 10 Statutory Boards of Studies, namely,
